HOW DOES IT WORK?

Massage in Schools Programme (MISP): Nurturing Touch for Positive Development

MISP integrates positive, nurturing touch into the educational system through creative mini-massage, allowing all children to experience its benefits in their daily lives.

This innovative approach fosters growth and development in a safe, open, and secure environment, teaching children to respect one another and recognize the value of positive touch.

Key Benefits:

✔ Enhances emotional well-being and social skills
✔ Promotes respect and empathy among peers
✔ Improves classroom focus and behavior
✔ Supports smoother class management, reducing stress for teachers
✔ Creates a calmer learning environment, allowing more time for teaching

How It Works:

The programme is simple to implement and requires only 10 minutes per day. Sessions take place in a safe setting, such as a classroom, where children are guided by an adult to perform gentle, structured massage on one another. The massage is always done over clothing, focusing on the back, neck, arms, and head in a fun and creative way.

A Global Initiative

Launched in the UK in the 1990s, MISP has since expanded worldwide, enriching the lives of children across different countries and cultures.
